Troubleshooting QR Code Scan Issues on ChatDaddy
If you're having trouble scanning the QR code to log into ChatDaddy, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Retry Scanning the QR Code
Sometimes, the QR scan might fail due to camera angle, poor lighting, or movement.
- Make sure your phone's camera is clean and focused on the screen.
- Hold the phone steady and center the QR code within the scan box in ChatDaddy.
- Click the refresh button to re-generate QR code.
2. Relink Device Using Your Phone Number
If QR scanning doesn't work:
- On your computer, go to ChatDaddy.
- Click on the “Link with phone number” option under the QR code.
- Select your country code and enter your WhatsApp phone number.
- You’ll see an 8-digit code on your computer screen.
- On your phone:
- Open WhatsApp.
- Go to Settings (iPhone) or tap the three dots > Linked Devices (Android).
- Tap Link a Device.
- Select Link with phone number (if available).
- Enter the 8-digit code shown on your computer screen.
3. Refresh Your Browser and Clear Cache/Cookies
A simple browser refresh or clearing your browser data can often fix QR loading problems.
- Refresh the page using the refresh icon, or press Ctrl + R (Windows) / Cmd + R (Mac).
- If the issue persists:
- Open your browser settings.
- Navigate to Privacy and Security > Clear Browsing Data.
- Select Cookies and Cached Images/Files, then confirm the action.
4. Use a Different Phone to Scan
If your current phone isn’t scanning correctly:
- Try scanning the QR code using another smartphone with WhatsApp installed.
- Make sure WhatsApp is updated to the latest version on the alternate device.
Remove Old or Problematic Linked Devices
Too many active sessions or an old link might cause conflicts.
- On your phone, open WhatsApp.
- Go to Settings > Linked Devices.
- You’ll see a list of devices currently linked.
- Tap on any device you no longer use and select Log Out.
- Then try linking the new session again by scanning the QR code or using your phone number.
Keeping your linked devices list clean helps avoid syncing issues and enhances security.
5. Create a New Channel in ChatDaddy
If none of the above steps work:
- Log in to your ChatDaddy dashboard.
- Go to Channels.
- Click “+ New Channel” and follow the steps to create a fresh WhatsApp connection.
- Try linking your device again through the new channel.
❗Creating another channel may incur your next billing. If the other channel is able to establish connection, contact us by raising a ticket to have us notified. We will assist in removing the channel.
⚠️ Note: QR Scan Limitation
If you're unable to scan the QR code to connect with ChatDaddy, this is a limitation from WhatsApp, not ChatDaddy. The scan process is fully controlled by WhatsApp, and sometimes it may block or delay new connections.
