WhatsApp Business App Quick Start (WhatsApp Coexistence)
This section provides details on how to onboard businesses that are already using the WhatsApp Business App and want to expand to the WhatsApp Cloud API.
Requirements
📌📌📌 Before onboarding a number to WhatsApp Coexistence Mode, make sure:
- The phone number has been actively using the WhatsApp Business App (receiving and sending messages) for at least 7 consecutive days before registration. If the number was inactive for more than 7 consecutive days before registration, Meta will reject the registration. For example:

- The latest version of the WhatsApp Business App is installed on a smartphone with a camera (QR code required).
- The number is not from a restricted region.
Step-by-Step Procedure
Connect the WhatsApp Business App
Step 1: Go to your Inbox and click on WABA Channel.
Step 2: Log in using your email address / phone number and password, then click “Continue as”.

Step 3: Click Get Started.

Step 4: Select your Business that you want to connect to your WhatsApp number, then click Next.

Step 5: Connect your existing WhatsApp Business App.

Step 6: Enter your phone number again and complete the verification process. ✅

Step 7: Open the WhatsApp Business App on your phone.
Step 8 : Follow the in-app instructions:
- A new WhatsApp message will prompt you to scan a QR code.
- Tap the message and scan the QR displayed on screen.
Confirm Migration and History Sync
Tapping the message button will:
- Inform the business that chat history can be migrated to ChatDaddy.
- Enable history and contact sync (optional).
Tapping “Scan QR code” will trigger:
- The chat history sharing with ChatDaddy.
- The connection to the WhatsApp Business Platform.
Finish the Embedded Signup
Confirm or edit your WhatsApp Business Account information.

Review ChatDaddy WABA’s access request and click Continue

Once completed:
- ChatDaddy will create the integration.
- The number will be ready for use on the WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API).
- Contacts and history sync will begin, if chosen.
- Webhooks will be logged and available.
Onboarding and synchronization can take several minutes, depending on a number of factors such as the size of the business's messaging history, internet speed, etc. If you encounter any issues, please reach out to our Support Team.

📱 Can I keep using the WhatsApp Business App?
✅ Yes! You can continue using the app while also gaining access to API-based tools on ChatDaddy.
💸 Will I be charged if I send messages via my WhatsApp Business App after connecting to ChatDaddy?
💬 No worries — it’s still free even after connecting your WhatsApp Business App to ChatDaddy.
💾 Will my team lose access to chat history?
🗂️ No. Your chat history remains in the WhatsApp Business App.
Please note: ChatDaddy will not display past conversations during Phase 1.
📩 What happens when someone sends a message from the Business App?
💡 ChatDaddy will show it as an echo message.
It won’t open a service window or trigger any automation.
🔢 Do messages from the Business App count toward messaging limits?
🚫 No. Messages sent from the app are free.
Only messages sent via the Cloud API will be counted and billed.
🌍 Which countries are currently unsupported?
❌ Nigeria and South Africa are currently not supported.
🔄 Do I need to keep the WhatsApp Business App active?
⚠️ Yes! You must open the WhatsApp Business App at least once every 14 days to keep your connection active.
If not, your Channel connection may be removed, which can disrupt message deliverability on ChatDaddy.
If the connection is lost, you’ll need to reconnect your phone number as a new WhatsApp Coexistence Channel.
🔵 Will I lose my Meta Verified badge when I onboard, and how can I restore it?
🧾 Yes. Onboarding your WhatsApp Business App to the WhatsApp Business API removes your Meta Verified badge (blue tick).
To restore it, you’ll need to re-subscribe through your Meta Business Profile (MBP).
⚠️ Why do I see the error “The WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) you’re trying to connect already has an existing payment method” when setting up WhatsApp Coexistence?
💡 This is a Meta limitation.
Credit lines for WhatsApp Coexistence accounts cannot be removed or migrated to another provider.
If you need to change the credit line, the only option is to fully offboard the coexistence account and onboard it again as a WhatsApp Business API account.
💻 Why are messages sent from WhatsApp for Windows not appearing in ChatDaddy when using a coexistence number?
📋 This is a known limitation from Meta.
WhatsApp for Windows and WhatsApp for WearOS are not supported for coexistence.
Messages sent from these clients to a coexistence number won’t appear in ChatDaddy, though they may still show up in the WhatsApp Business App.
✅ Other supported clients like WhatsApp Web or mobile apps work normally.
🔗 How many devices can I link to my WhatsApp Coexistence account, and are all devices supported?
📱 You can link up to four WhatsApp companion clients (linked devices) to your WhatsApp Business App account.
🚫 Note: WhatsApp for Windows and WhatsApp for WearOS are not compatible, but other companion clients are supported for Coexistence.
