How to appeal a WhatsApp Ban?
Steps to get your Account Back!
TLDR: Your only option in most cases is to Appeal the ban by contacting their support team.
For a Temporary Ban –
You’ll receive a "Temporarily banned" message in the app, it means your WhatsApp account is temporarily banned due to policy violations or unauthorized usage.
To get unbanned from a temporary ban, follow these steps:
- Log out from and delete unofficial apps that mimic WhatsApp.
- Cease spamming activities.
- Wait it Out: You may wait it out until you’re able to use your account for temporary bans.
- Appeal the Ban: If you think you have been wrongfully banned and can’t wait till your account is reinstated, you can appeal to WhatsApp support.
For a Permanent Ban –
If your WhatsApp account is permanently banned, you'll see the message "This account is not allowed to use WhatsApp." Permanent bans are typically irreversible. However, if you believe you were wrongly banned, you can appeal the ban to request unbanning your account.
Follow the process below.
- Appeal the Ban: If it’s a permanent ban, you’ll need to appeal to WhatsApp. Open the app, where you’ll see a screen informing you of the ban. Click on “Contact Us”, ”Support”.
- Write Your Appeal: In the text field/email, write your appeal. Clearly state that you believe your account has been banned unfairly and request a review. Be polite and professional in your communication and include relevant details that can help your case. Explain how this was unintentional and would not happen again, and that losing this WhatsApp number may impact your business significantly. Promise to use WhatsApp responsibly.
- Send Your Appeal: Once you’ve written your appeal, click “Send”. It may take a few days for WhatsApp to respond, so be patient.
After lodging your appeal, await the team’s response. They might ask for further information or detail the next steps. Depending on the severity of your alleged violation, your account might be reinstated, or the ban may remain.
Please include an explanation of your actions and commitment to follow WhatsApp's policies in your appeal message. Note that WhatsApp receives many similar requests, so it may take time for them to review and respond to your case.
Please note: The outcome depends on WhatsApp and your ban may not be revoked if you’ve been banned multiple times before for violating their policies.
